What is "Wealth Mentality"?

For todays blog I wanted to define a seemingly simple yet widely misunderstood mindset on the topic of acquiring wealth mentality. Yes, the definition of wealth clearly states having an abundance of valuable possessions or money, or the state of being rich, or having material prosperity. However, I'd like to also focus on the non-physical standpoint of wealth, which would include having a wealth of knowledge, a wealth of time, a wealth of love, relationships etc. When I list the 6 pillars to wealth mentality I would like to challenge you to picture the word wealth in its entirety.

The six pillars of "Wealth Mentality"

• Understanding the power of the spoken word. What you speak is what you get. You are "hung by the tongue." If you speak positive words you will receive positive things, if you speak negative things then you will get negative things in return. Calling yourself dumb, stupid or lazy will perpetuate them into your sub-conscience and it will become a part of who you are. Speaking positive, life-forming words will open yourself to upward growth and experience areas of success that the negative realm does not provide. In essence, what you say has power.

• You reap what you sow. This is simple, if you want more time in your life you will need to sow time. If you want more money you will need to sow money into something. If you want better relationships you must sow good seed into your relationships with others. Of all these things, it is said that your #1 asset in life is time. In the law of reaping and sowing, you may want to consider this one as the most valuable.

• Understand the power of unity. A major component of unity is growth. Growth creates unity and you cannot have one without the other. Being unified is important to wealth mentality because it is important to have a bond with others who will help you succeed in a worthwhile dream or goal. Anything great that has ever been accomplished has been done with a unified group of people backed by commitment to each other.

•  Learn the importance of submission vs. rebellion. Submission can be very accurately defined as "being in support of the mission". Learn how to be lead before you can lead. Having mentors and people you look up to will always give you humility and will stretch your vision for future growth. Success is not a destination, it's a journey. So find people who understand that they will never "arrive" and don't follow them, rather, follow the principles that they stand for and live by. Rebellion simply creates division and that is the opposite of unity.

• Understand investing vs. spending. So many people waste their time and money because they lack the understanding of investing. Invest in things that will not depreciate. One of the most valuable investments of time and money will always be people. When you invest in people, they will grow. Houses, stock markets, and other things rise and fall in more ways than you can control. People however can and will grow over a lifetime if you learn the proper techniques of personal development and servant-leadership.

• The last pillar is summed up in this one statement. "No one controls your attitude therefore you control your future and your success." Have a positive mental attitude. You can only control 2 things in life, your actions and your attitude. This means that your attitude is directly linked to you success. To have a true wealth mentality you must acquire a unparalleled positive mental attitude in all areas of life.
